We are pleased to invite you to a private visit of the 7th Arrondissement: a surprising cabinet of curiosities, by Emilio Williams.

Award winning author and teacher, Emilio Williams splits his time between Paris and Chicago, where he is a Writing Fellow at the School of the Art Institute. He is currently working on a non-fiction book called “Paris Again: Memory and Amnesia Under the Eiffel Tower”. His award-winning theatre plays have been produced and published internationally to much critical acclaim. In his previous life, as a journalist, he worked for CNN in Atlanta and Washington DC.

Every Parisian arrondissement carries its own set of clichés and stereotypes. In this private tour, Williams will share his on-going research on the rich and forgotten history of the 7th arrondissement and the colorful characters whose stories will shatter your assumptions about this misunderstood part of Paris. Filled with fun anecdotes and visits to unmarked sights, the tour will make you look at this part of the Left Bank with new eyes. As a group, we’ll pay a visit to the ghosts of some of its most scandalous former neighbors; we’ll walk in the steps of James Joyce and other luminaries, and visit some of the gems of turn of the century architecture hidden in plain sight.

The group will gather in a private residence to drink a glass of champagne facing the Eiffel Tower.

Optional dinner afterwards at La Fontaine de Mars (paid separately and directly at the restaurant). Please let us know if you would like to join us for dinner by sending us an email at: acp.americanclub@gmail.com
